Day 16

Day 16:

Let me just start by apologizing for my absence over the last few days. We were on vacation and I took a vow of no electronics- it was heavenly. Here are the hookers on Day 16- still healing and getting lighter everyday. YAY!

Day 11 and healing

Day 11

There's not much to say today. They don't itch anymore and they're healing nicely. I'm anxious to fast forward a week or two and see what it looks like once it's all healed, and to get my next treatment. I can see my tattoo removal just as addictive as getting tattoos once were.

Day 10: Check out what happened to the flower! It's SO light!!!

Day 10

Check it out!! The skin over the flower peeled off in one perfect piece- like a sunburn I guess (I never get burnt like that, but I've seen people peeling after a sunburn). I was shocked. I think maybe it shouldn't have peeled off so fast, but it was hanging off so I just worked the rest off and VOILA! This is what you get: new, lighter skin. I thought only the obvious darker spots here and there were going to slough off and heal, I wasn't expecting this from the flower. I wonder if the leaves will too. I gotta say, I am happier with it everyday. I'm so thankful that I found Way Gone Laser Tattoo Removal, and that it's affordable and effective. I was so close to getting something bigger, something I didn't even want, but anything to cover these tattoos us. But instead, I'm getting what I want; what I've wanted for years: tattoos be gone!!!

This is before, only 10 days ago

Day 9 - Almost all healed! YAY

Day 9

There's still a little scab from the laser (the darker spots). But overall , it's lightened a lot already. I can't believe it's only been a week.

Day 8

Day 8

There's not much change from yesterday. You can see a little scab (what a gross word) from where my skin blistered from the laser (totally normal). So, when the dark scab heals, it will stop itching! Yay! That's not what I was going to say, but it sure is what I was thinking. SO, when the scab falls off, I guess it will be pretty much healed. Laser treatment one week ago and almost healed? Awesome! See ya later you dirty sluts! (I can't stress enough how much I want these tattoos gone!)

Day 7

Day 7

Yay! It's healing really well.

Day 6: I had my first laser tattoo removal procedure done only 6 days ago.I'm so stoked at the difference already.

Day 6

I am more amazed every single day. It's healing nicely, I barely notice it at all. The flower and the leaves are the only tender spots, but that's what we expected. And by tender, I mean, they're a tad itchy and I'm worried I will accidentally scratch them, or that my shorts will rub them the wrong way. Other than that, they're good. I can't wait to get my next treatment. I want these hookers gone! :)

Remember, this is Day 1 and below is Day 6. Only one laser treatment and look at the difference.

Day 5

Day 5: You can tell there's some blistering here and there, and those area are a little itchier than the rest, but for the most part, they don't bother me at all

Day 4: Wow! They are disappearing fast!

Day 4

Day 4: Forgive me, it's another self portrait of my back- not an easy task. But that's the down side to being married to a fire fighter; lots of alone time. So, today the flower is a little itchy. I put fresh aloe from my garden on it, and it's good to go. I'm afraid I might accidentally scratch it in my sleep, but other than that, sleeping with it is no problem. I can put hydrocortisone on it if the itching gets too bad. And so far, it's not. They're really fading, although the glare makes it a little hard to see. Tomorrow's picture will be better. I am impressed and totally stoked. Bye bye you sorry bunch of hookers! :)

How this blog came to be

I've regretted all of my tattoos for years now. But the research I did on tattoo removal wasn't promising. Basically, I found it to be very expensive and unpromising. When I got some of these tattoos, 16 years ago, I had no idea I would end up hating them. And I HATE them. I am motivated now more than ever, to get rid of them. So, I started researching again. And hit the same wall, again. Expensive! That's when I started researching ideas to cover them up. And I was actually starting to draw something when God put me in the right place at the right time. THANK YOU GOD! I happened to overhear a woman talking about her laser tattoo removal. So I asked her, and a week later, I had my first appointment at Way Gone Laser Tattoo Removal. Turns out, it is affordable, and every effective. So here I am, documenting it, every step of the way so that people like me, searching for tattoo removal options can find positive results, pictures and my, however colorful, story of the tattoo removal process. Mahalo for joining me, Jes

Day 3: Fading fast, two days after my first laser tattoo removal

Day 3: Healing nicely

So, it's healing nicely. I'm just letting it do it's thing. It doesn't hurt one bit but it is getting itchy. I catch myself touching it, about to scratch it before I remember not to. The flower and leaves are the tender spots, but that's what we expected and my pants rub it, which doesn't help. I walk around the house all gangsta, with my pants half hanging off. We're expecting the green part to blister up, which is usual for that color because remember, the laser has to work at a higher frequency to knock the lighter colors out. But so far, it's not. It's just a little puffy and itchy, like a burn. I'm impressed with how much the hooker on the right faded (her name is Pamela- I didn't name her, she's from a comic book... a dirty comic book.) She was a little lighter to begin with, but so far all the black outlines are fading really well, more than I even expected.

Day 2: Healing nicely the day after laser tattoo removal

Day 2-1 (a self portrait of your back, with your phone... not that easy. I thought about one of those bathroom shots, with the mirror and all, but I am not that lame.)

Day 2-2 (sorry about the glare, that's why I posted both pictures)

Day 2: Healing after my first laser treatment

So, I slept like a baby last night, it didn't bother me one bit. It still feels a little tight, like a sun burn, otherwise it's fine. The leaves go below my shorts and the rubbing was a little annoying, not because it hurt, but because I was worried it would hinder the healing process. So I was kind of moving like a robot sometimes.
If you were wondering about after care, it's simple. Let your body do it's thing. Keep it clean. Stay out of the sun. Drink lots of water. Simple.
   Any questions?

Day 1: My tattoos before and after my first laser tattoo removal treatment

Day 1: My tattoos, 16 years old, before laser tattoo removal

Day 1: Here we go!

Day 1: making progress

Day 1: one down, one to go

Day 1: Done!

Day 1: 1 hour after my first laser treatment.

What did it feel like?

The most popular question on everyone's mind: What did it feel like? Well, honestly, it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting, and I'm a wussy. Big time! I found a documentary on Netflix, maybe you've heard of it "Erasing Hate". Where this former clan member gets tattoo removal for his face and hands. After seeing what this guy went though, I thought I was doomed. Turned out, I was wrong. While there were some spots that were more tender than others, like the top of the wings and the bottom of the leaves, near my tailbone. But the rest was tolerable.
From what I understand, lidocaine injections actually slow the process, it gets in the way of the laser being able to do it's thing (more on that in a minute). So we numbed with just ice. Yup! JUST ICE! Which was actually the most uncomfortable part. Nikki, my laser extraordinaire, has this down to a T. She does a few zaps, then hits it with an ice cold, ice roller. And, I have to say, her system works pretty well. On the more tender areas, she did less zaps at a time and more ice in between. And other areas, she was able to just go, go, go. And it felt like the splatter from bacon grease. (Doesn't that make you want a BLT right now?) Yup, it's like a quick "WTH" and then it's gone (thanks to the ice).
Here's how the laser works. It bursts the ink into smaller particles that your body then eliminates. So, the healthier you are, the more water you drink and the better you care for it, the better your body and work for you. Simple. (Which is probably why clan guy had a hard time. Not. So. Healthy.

Oh, so more on the laser: the laser sees the ink and obliterates it. So, the darker the ink, the better the laser sees it and kicks it's skanky ass (I refer to those two bondage fairies as skanks, sluts and a colorful array of names- Yes, I can see what you'd assume this says about me, hence getting rid of those skanky bitches. Remember, they're 16 years old. They've grown up a lot over the years). Back to the ink, so you can see how the black outline got it's butt kicked by the laser and how the green, purple and red are holding strong. The laser has to work a little harder to see those colors. That's why I am expecting the green, especially, to possibly blister and ache a bit more than the rest.
Now, about that aching. By the time I got to the car, the ice had worn off and those dirty sluts were screaming. Like a burn. It felt like a burn. So much so, that I had to turn the A/C off in the car. But, about 2 hours post-op, it had calmed down. It left like your tight skin after a sun burn. Not just any sunburn, but the sunburn you get from drinking like a fish at Coconuts all day on a Saturday. Cocoa Beach people WUZZUP! (A shot out to my old stomping ground. Wait, are shot outs still cool?)
   And that's it. Any questions?
